Edmonton Oilers v. Ottawa Senators
Projected Goalies: Mikko Koskinen v. Marcus Hogberg
The Oilers have lost 3 of their past 5 games with each of those coming after a short Covid-19 pause. This matchup tonight will give the Oilers a good chance to get back on track and gain ground on the Maple Leafs for top spot in the North Division. The Senators are an even 3-3 in their last 6 games and that is a pretty solid mark for this team. Tonight, Hogberg will make his first start since mid-February and he gets a rather rude welcome back party with Connor McDavid and company. Ottawa can be frisky at times but tonight they stand no real chance against Edmonton.
The Bet: Oilers Puckline
Prediction: Oilers 5-2 Senators
Montreal Canadiens v. Toronto Maple Leafs
Projected Goalies: Jake Allen v. Jack Campbell
If this game were to happen in February we would call it the battle of the backups but tonight we get arguably each team's top goalie. Allen has slightly out paced Carey Price this season in terms of peripheral stats while Jack Campbell has easily led the Leafs goalies as he currently owns a blemish free 9-0 record. Toronto as a whole is on absolute heater as they have won 4 in a row and 7 of their past 8. Montreal is going to head into this game a little beat up as Brendan Gallagher will be out week-to-week with a hand injury and that will hurt their bottom line tonight.
The Bet: Maple Leafs Moneyline
Prediction: Canadiens 1-4 Maple Leafs
Vegas Golden Knights v. St. Louis Blues
Projected Goalies: Marc-Andre Fleury v. Jordan Binnington
This is a “don’t look now” battle in the Gateway City tonight. Don’t look now but Marc-Andre Fleury is a backup goalie in Vegas. The veteran started the season so hot when he was needed every game due to an injury to Robin Lehner. Recently, Fleury has lost 4 of 5 starts and has given up 3 or more goals in over half of those games. Don’t look now but St. Louis is actually bad. The Blues have lost 7 games in a row...7! They are dead even at 16-16-6 and are outside the playoffs in the West Division. If St. Louis has any chance at turning their season around then they have to start playing well tonight against a goalie in bad form.
The Bet: Blues Moneyline
Prediction: Vegas 3-4 Blues
Colorado Avalanche v. Minnesota Wild
Projected Goalies: Philip Grubauer v. Cam Talbot
The preseason Stanley Cup betting favorites are now officially the #1 team in the NHL. Colorado has ascended the standings board with just an unreal run of games. The Avalanche have won 13 of their last 15 and took home a 5-4 decision over this same Wild team on Monday. Minnesota has used solid and consistent play to cement themselves into the third spot in the West Division and thus an all-but-guaranteed playoff berth. The Wild will be getting back two crafty veterans in Zach Parise and Mats Zuccarello. These much needed reinforcements will drive the Wild to an upset victory at home tonight.
The Bet: Wild Moneyline
Prediction: Avalanche 2-3 Wild
Arizona Coyotes v. Los Angeles Kings
Projected Goalies: Adin Hill v. Jonathan Quick
This must be fade the favorites night because I will tell you right now I am on the Coyotes. The main reason I am backing the boys from Arizona is because they are on a 3 game win streak and I have bet against them in each of those 3 games. Oftentimes when you chase that win you can get caught waiting for a while but if you switch sides then you can also mush the streaking team. Regardless of what happens in this game tonight I could not live with myself if I bet against Arizona and they won again. Oh, and LA is on a 3 game losing streak so that helps too.
The Bet: Coyotes Moneyline
Prediction: Coyotes 4-2 Kings
