Vegas Golden Knights v. Minnesota Wild
Vegas got shutout by Minnesota on Monday in a game that Marc Andre Fleury kept them in to begin with. Captain Mark Stone and top defenseman Alex Pietrangelo were both late subtractions to the Golden Knights lineup and that clearly hindered their team on the ice. Pietrangelo returned to Vegas and has been ruled out for the foreseeable future while Stone’s injury is day-to-day. The Wild continue to be led by young rookie playmaker Kyril Kaprisov as well as a solid veteran foundation on the backend. If Minnesota wants to make it two straight against Vegas, they will need to put more than 2 goals up on the scoreboard.
The Bet: Vegas Moneyline, Over 5.5 Total Goals
Prediction: Vegas 4-3 Wild
Ottawa Senators v. Edmonton Oilers
The Senators kept it close on Monday against Edmonton in a game most were expecting to be a blow out. Ottawa has the fortunes of returning regular starter Matt Murray to the goal crease tonight, although his numbers this year have been porous. The Oilers threatened all game but could not manage to score more than 3 goals against a backup goalie, something that is rare for the likes of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. With a second kick at the can tonight I expect a much more commanding performance from the Alberta based team.
The Bet: Oilers Puckline, Over 6.5 Total Goals
Prediction: Senators 2-5 Oilers
Arizona Coyotes v. Colorado Avalanche
The Coyotes had just recently gotten top goalie Darcy Keumper back from injury and starting again when he left last game with an injury. Keumper has returned to Arizona for further evaluation which means Antti Raanta is once again the starter moving forward. Raanta is more than capable of playing the majority of games but tonight he has his hands full with recently cleared to play Nathan MacKinnon. MacKinnon will join his linemates Gabriel Landeskog and Mikko Rantanen at the helm of Colorado’s attack and will be looking to get the Avalanche back on a winning track. Colorado’s backend will be down several key players, though, as Cale Makar and Eric Johnson are still injured.
The Bet: Over 5.5 Total Goals
Prediction: Coyotes 2-4 Avalanche
Los Angeles Kings v. Anaheim Ducks
The Kings gave up 6 goals to the Ducks last time out, which is something that no other team had managed to do all year. LA had been exceeding expectations up until recently and it is fair to ask whether this could start a slide down the table. Veteran goalie Jonathon Quick is day-to-day with injury which means youngster Cal Peterson will play again in net. The Ducks might just be starting to click on offense and you have to wonder what the callup to top prospect Trevor Zegras has to do with it. His stats aren’t very impressive but maybe his cocky mojo has reinvigorated a group that knew it was always going to be miles away from playoff contention. In game 2 of this series I am banking on this Ducks squad to return to normalcy and struggle to find goals.
The Bet: Kings Moneyline
Prediction: Kings 3-2 Ducks
Montreal Canadiens v. Vancouver Canucks
In a game that starts at 11PM EST we could be in for some midnight mayhem. These two played a tight 2-1 game on Monday that needed the shootout to determine the winner. Carey Price has looked like his old self after Montreal’s coaching change and will look to continue his solid play in goal. Thatcher Demko has solidified himself as Vancouver’s top option in net and continues to give the Canucks the best chance to win. In a battle for 4th place in the North Division, I see the rejuvenated Canadiens walking away with a late night victory.
The Bet: Canadiens Moneyline
Prediction: Canadiens 3-2 Canucks

Oilers & Avalanche to Win
Daily Fantasy Plays of the Day:
Center: Connor McDavid and/or Leon Draisaitl-Sometimes you have to play chalk to win daily fantasy contests and on a day with only 5 games you will struggle to find any plays better than these two against Ottawa.
Wing: Gabriel Landeskog-His slow start to the season has started to disappear and he continues to play with elite talents Rantanen and MacKinnon. With Nate back in the lineup and Rantanen being the highest priced winger, Gabe is the perfect value play here.
Defense: Zach Whitecloud-Vegas is down defenseman Alex Pietrangelo and most of his minutes will roll to Shea Theodore, but after that, Whitecloud will see the biggest increase in ice time. He can play a physical game and block shots but he also can find the open man from the point and is a steal at the bottom player listing.
Goalie: Mike Smith-Play the goalie against Ottawa and you will win more then you lose, guaranteed.
Utility: Chandler Stephenson-The former Washington Capital who was acquired for a 5th round pick has found a home in Sin City. He currently centers the top forward line but his price would indicate he is a third line player. The exposure here is too good to pass up on in any matchup.
