Miami Heat (6) v. (3) Milwaukee Bucks
Bucks Lead Series 1-0
Milwaukee needed overtime to dispatch the Heat in game 1 of the series. Considering the extra 5 minute frame, the game was low scoring as well, something the Heat would prefer. Miami is balanced team that defends as well as any squad in the NBA today. They get scoring from all over the court too with Duncan Robinson and Tyler Herro shooting 3-Pointers while Jimmy Butler can create shots and drive the lane while Bam Adebayo plays on the interior. Milwaukee is led by its MVP and All-NBA frontman Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Bucks were the better team in the regular season but this matchup is closer than it appears and I think we are in for another nailbiter this evening.

Portland Trail Blazers (6) v. (3) Denver Nuggets
Trail Blazers Lead Series 1-0
Portland secured the upset win in game 1 on the road in Denver. The 14 point win came on the backs of strong performances from Portland’s two main men, Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum. The Trail Blazers also got 18 solid bench points from Carmelo Anthony against his former team. Denver is still hurting from the season ending injury to Jamal Murray which has negatively impacted their ability to score consistently. Their star man, Nikola Jokic, is the presumptive MVP, but he will need help if Denver wants to advance in this 7 game series. However, I doubt the Nuggets will drop two straight at home to kick off their hopeful playoff run.
