Milwaukee Brewers v Philadelphia Phillies
Projected Starters: Brandon Woodruff v. Zack Wheeler
Today’s series finale pits two teams trending in different directions. The Brewers have lost 4 in a row and seen their lead in the NL Central be reduced to ashes. The Phillies are on a 3 game win streak and are looking to secure their first series sweep since they won 3 in a row against Atlanta to open the season. We have a great pitching matchup on the mound today as Woodruff, the Brewers ace, takes on Wheeler who has been the Phillies best arm this season. This game will likely come down to the wire but I am a big fan of Woodruff and believe he has the stuff to get the Brewers out of this mini slump.
The Bet: Brewers Moneyline
Texas Rangers v. Minnesota Twins
Projected Starters: Jordan Lyles v. Michael Pineda
Speaking of series sweeps, the Rangers have the chance to make it 3 in a row against the Twins this afternoon. Texas previously won 3 in a row against Tampa earlier this season but that was in a 4 game series so they are still looking for their first sweep. Minnesota has been a very disappointing team this season considering their high expectations after making the playoffs each of the last two seasons. One player not disappointing in the Twin Cities is Michael Pineda who owns a 2.31 ERA and sub 1.00 WHIP on the season. The Twins are heavy favorites on the moneyline but they return great value on the runline where I think Pineda can lead them to a relatively large margin of victory.
The Bet: Twins Runline
Cleveland Indians v. Kansas City Royals
Projected Starters: Triston McKenzie v. Danny Duffy
Series sweeps and long winning/losing streaks seem to be the theme today in the MLB. Cleveland enters this game on a 4 game heater and are looking to make it a 4 game series sweep of Kansas City. The Royals are on a 4 game losing streak and their strong start to the season is beginning to slip away. Luckily for KC, Danny Duffy is on the mound today. Duffy has always been a favorite of mine even if his numbers the last 2 seasons haven't been great. He was a star prospect who boasted great stuff and it has finally translated to the mound this season where he is 4-1 with a 0.60 ERA.
The Bet: Royals Moneyline
Toronto Blue Jays v. Oakland Athletics
Projected Starters: Hyun Jin Ryu v. Mike Fiers
Toronto won their first game in this series last night by riding their bats to a 9-4 win. If they want to win the fourth and final game in this series then they will need to ride their arms today. Ryu has been activated off the 10-Day IL to start this game and his numbers on the season are very solid. Fiers is making his second start of the season for Oakland, he lost his first appearance but it was hardly his fault. So far, 2 of the 3 games between these two this week have gone over the projected total but today I am backing a low scoring affair in the Bay Area.
The Bet: Under 8.5 Total Runs
Arizona Diamondbacks v. Miami Marlins
Projected Starters: Madison Bumgarner v. Pablo Lopez
Another series sweep is on the line tonight as the Marlins look to make it 3 in a row against Arizona. The Diamondbacks were doing well entering this series before a pair of setbacks. Tonight they get their ace, Bumgarner, on the mound and he is fresh off his two best starts of the season. Lopez has been the Marlins top starter as well this season and the pitching matchup is reflected in the low over/under total. I am feeling ambitious with my ability to predict the outcome of this game and will roll with a same game parlay that will return great odds.
The Bet: Same Game Parlay-Diamondbacks to Win & Over 7.5 Total Runs
Fancy a Parlay?
Red Sox to Win + Adjusted Unders of 9.5 in Astros v. Yankees & Brewers v. Phillies
