MLB Preview 4-9-21

Major League Baseball Daily Preview 4-9-21

Los Angeles Angels v. Toronto Blue Jays

Projected Starters: Andrew Heaney v. T.J. Zeuch

This is a battle of two of the better offenses in the American League and it takes place in a Minor League Ballpark due to the Blue Jays not being able to play in Toronto. Neither team is throwing out their best pitcher today and while Heaney has experience over Zeuch, the latter has better natural stuff and a killer fastball. I think the upstart Blue Jays pull out an upset win today and use their bats to beat up on the Angels pitchers.

The Bet: Blue Jays Moneyline

Detroit Tigers v. Cleveland Indians

Projected Starters: Julio Tehran v. Zach Plesac

The X-Factor in my season preview for Detroit was pitcher Julio Tehran. I said if he could get back to an all star level then he would be a steal of a pickup. In his first start of the season Tehran went 5 innings and only allowed 1 run against this same Indians team. Plesac also has good numbers from his first start and will be looking for his first win of the season. Neither team has an especially potent lineup which is why the under will hit here today.

The Bet: Under 9.5 Total Runs

San Diego Padres v. Texas Rangers

Projected Starters: Joe Musgrove v. Kohei Arihara

The Padres will be without dynamic SS Fernando Tatis Jr. today but that won’t stop them from getting a win. Joe Musgrove is 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA after one start and the Padres are beginning to pick up the pace. The Rangers will toss out Arihara who was beat up in his first start of the season and now has to face Manny Machado, Wil Myers, and Eric Hosmer and company.

The Bet: Padres Runline

Cincinnati Reds v. Arizona Diamondbacks

Projected Starters: Tyler Maele v. Taylor Widener

Don’t look now but the Reds have the #1 offense in baseball. They are averaging 9.5 runs a game which is enough to hit most overs on their own. The Diamondbacks, on the other hand, have a bottom 5 pitching unit in the league that is giving up over 6 runs a game. With the Reds on a heater, and playing in Arizona where the outfield is as big as the Pacific Ocean, I am expecting a lot of runs in this night cap.

The Bet: Over 9.5 Total Runs

Fancy a Parlay?

Adjusted Unders of 10.5 Total Runs in Yankees v. Rays & Astros v. Athletics

Both games feature starting pitchers that are at the top of each team's respective rotations.
