Pittsburgh Pirates v. Cincinnati Reds
Projected Starters: Chad Kuhl v. Luis Castillo
The Pirates have lost 4 games in a row and will look to avoid the sweep today in Cincinnati. The Reds pounded the Pirates yesterday 14-1 and today will throw their ace, Castillo, out on the mound. The Pirates are awful and the Reds are humming, this should be another blowout.
The Bet: Reds Runline
Tampa Bay Rays v. Boston Red Sox
Projected Starters: Ryan Yarborough v. Nathan Eovaldi
These two played a tight extra inning affair last night that saw it end on a Red Sox walk off single turned Rays outfield error. Playing 12 innings in a night game and then turning around for a 1:10 first pitch game the next day must be tiring on the body. With the quick turnaround and two solid pitchers on the mound this could be a slow moving game.
The Bet: Under 9.5 Total Runs
Milwaukee Brewers v. Chicago Cubs
Projected Starters: Brandon Woodruff v. Kyle Hendricks
The rubber match in this series will feature two strong arms going toe-to-toe in an afternoon start. The Brewers avenged 5-3 loss in game one of this series by winning 4-0 yesterday. Neither team has an especially potent offense and I expect another under to hit today.
The Bet: Under 9.5 Total Runs
New York Mets v. Philadelphia Phillies
Projected Starters: David Peterson v. Aaron Nola
The Mets got their first win of the season last night and in doing so handed the Phillies their first loss. Today, however, the Mets have to throw Peterson out on the mound against a Phillies lineup full of big bats in a hitters park. Aaron Nola might be the de facto ace in Philly but there could be some runs for both sides today.
The Bet: Over 8.5 Total Runs
St. Louis Cardinals v. Miami Marlins
Projected Starters: Jack Flaherty v. Pablo Lopez
Both of these teams have had slow starts to the season but the Cardinals are starting to turn it on. St. Louis has won two straight and today their ace takes the mound against a Marlins lineup without many threats. This moneyline should favor the Cardinals way more than it does, especially with Flaherty on the mound.
The Bet: Cardinals Moneyline
Fancy a Parlay?
With tons of day baseball on today there are several different teams you should look at for parlays. There are a bunch of heavy favorites out there and these are my four to take with confidence: Braves (game 1), Indians, White Sox, and Blue Jays. You can put them all together for massive odds or split them up, either way you will get + money on teams that should win easily.
