Minnesota Twins v. Cleveland Indians
Projected Starters: Kenta Maeda v. Aaron Civale
The Indians won game 1 of this series last night in extra innings. The win was a devastating blow to a Twins team that has struggled out of the gate as they currently sit at 7-14. Tonight, Minnesota gets to throw out Kenta Maeda who has been one of their top arms the past few seasons despite struggling in the early part of this year. I expect the Twins to battle back into the win column tonight in a low scoring affair.
The Bet: Same Game Parlay- Twins to Win & the Under to Hit
Kansas City Royals v. Pittsburgh Pirates
Projected Starters: Jakob Junis v. Tyler Anderson
Kansas City has been one of the surprise teams of the season thus far. The Royals were not picked to do much this year but they are 14-7 and currently lead the AL Central. Tonight the Royals will put Jakob Junis on the mound against a weak Pirates team. Junis owns a solid 3.71 ERA with a 3.00 K/BB ratio on the season while the Pirates rank 21st in the league in runs scored.
The Bet: Royals Moneyline
Oakland Athletics v. Tampa Bay Rays
Projected Starters: Frankie Montas v. Michael Wacha
The Athletics got back to their winning ways yesterday with a close 2-1 decision over the Rays. Oakland is 9-1 in their last 10, and after a forgettable start to the season, they have gone on a tear to reach 15-8 and first place in the AL West. Tampa has been pretty average this season and a big reason why is inconsistent hitting. They rely too much on the home run ball as they rank top 10 in runs scored but bottom 10 in total hits. I expect both pitchers to settle in early tonight and keep the run total down.
The Bet: Under 9.5 Total Runs
Los Angeles Angels v. Texas Rangers
Projected Starters: Jose Quintana v. Mike Foltynewicz
The Angels won last night's battle with the Rangers in comeback fashion, rallying from a 4-1 deficit to win 9-4. Shohei Ohtani shined on both the mound and in the batter's box in an impressive performance. Tonight both teams will toss out starters with ERA’s over 5.00 and despite Quintana and Folynewicz having solid name recognition, they have both struggled to win games this season as they have a 0-4 record combined.
The Bet: Over 9.5 Total Runs
Colorado Rockies v. San Francisco Giants
Projected Starters: Chi Chi Gonzalez v. Aaron Sanchez
Don’t look now but the San Francisco Giants are one of the best teams in baseball. The Giants own a 15-8 record, and if it weren't for the Dodgers, they would be leading the NL West. San Francisco has operated a great pitching staff this year as they rank #1 in runs allowed in the league and tonight they throw out Aaron Sanchez. Sanchez, a former top prospect of the Blue Jays, has settled in nicely in San Fran and owns a 1.83 ERA over nearly 20 innings pitched. I expect the Giants to cruise to another win tonight against a hapless Rockies team that just fired their GM.
The Bet: Giants Runline
Fancy a Parlay?
Brewers, White Sox & Dodgers to Win
All 3 teams are playing at home and are facing inferior opponents.
