Europa League Quarterfinals Preview 4-8-21

UEFA Europa League Quarterfinals First Leg Preview 4-8-21

Ajax v. Roma

Ajax is in steller form at the moment as they have won 18 of their last 19 games in all competitions. The Dutch side handled their tie against Young Boys in the Round of 16 and now have to face a team from a Big-5 League. Roma has performed well in Europa League this season but their Serie A form has slipped recently. Roma is winless in their last 3 games in Italy and will look to shake their poor play tonight. Ajax always plays well at home and are certainly the favorites to win this match but both teams play attacking football meaning we could see goals today.

The Bet: Ajax to Win & Both Teams to Score

Prediction: Ajax 2-1 Roma

Arsenal v. Slavia Prague

Arsenal are one of the favorites to win this competition seeing as they are 1 of 2 English sides left in Europa League. The Gunners have had a tough go recently however as they were smacked by Liverpool at home and gave up 3 goals in a draw to West Ham the game before. Slavia Prague has had a dream European season so far as they have progressed all the way to the Quarterfinals. Prague eliminated Leicester City, a team above Arsenal in the Premier League table, earlier in the Round of 32 and will look to score another win in the U.K. tonight. Both teams will run a 4-2-3-1 meaning individual matchups will be at the forefront. Arsenal are heavy favorites, and rightfully so considering the strength of their squad, but Slavia Prague have proven time and time again that they should not be underestimated.

The Bet: Slavia Prague to Cover 1.5 Goals

Prediction: Arsenal 2-1 Slavia Prague

Dinamo Zagreb v. Villarreal

Zagreb, much like Prague, were a team many had little to no expectations for but here they are in the Quarterfinals. Zagreb pulled off a stunning comeback over Tottenham in the Round of 16 to reach this stage but they were given no favors with this Villarreal draw. The Spanish side are coming off a smashing 3-0 win in LaLiga this past weekend and their end goal surely is to win this entire tournament. Villarreal is also full of underrated players like Gerard Moreno and Pau Torres who lead their attack and defense, respectively. Zagreb prides itself on keeping the ball out of its own net and they know that any chance of victory today lies on the shoulders of their backline and keeper.

The Bet: Under 2.5 Total Goals

Prediction: Dinamo Zagreb 0-1 Villarreal

Granada CF v. Manchester United

Granada have enjoyed a wild ride of a season. They are slightly below average when it comes to domestic football but they have recorded amazing victories internationally. Granada pulled off the upset over Napoli in the Round of 32 before dispatching Cinderella side Molde in the Round of 16. Manchester United is obviously a massive club who are huge favorites in both this game and the entire tie. Their quality is known the world over and many of their players feast on lesser competition. Guys like Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes love to pad their stats against weaker opponents and tonight I expect more of the same.

The Bet: Manchester United to Cover 1.5 Goals

Prediction: Granada CF 1-3 Manchester United
