Champions League Quarterfinal Preview 4-13-21

Chelsea v. Porto

Chelsea won the first leg of this tie 2-0. The return fixture will be played in Seville, as was the first game, due to Covid-19 restrictions in Portugal. Chelsea dropped a stunner two weeks ago against West Bromwich Albion but they were back up to their old tricks this past weekend with a 4-1 stomping of Crystal Palace. Chelsea is starting to figure out their formation and offensive tactics under Thomas Tuchel and a lot of it has to do with the form of their top players. Mason Mount is an extraordinary attacking midfielder and Kai Havertz has started playing as a Center Forward which has helped his goal scoring. Porto won this past weekend in their domestic league but they know they need to score at least 3 goals without conceding if they have any chance to advance. Chelsea has only allowed more than 2 goals one time in the past 2 and a half months of fixtures. Porto normally runs a 4-4-2 but today they will rock a 4-3-3 attacking formation in the hunt for goals. This game went under last time out but it will go over today in Spain.

The Bet: Over 2.5 Total Goals

Prediction: Chelsea 2-1 Porto 

Paris Saint-Germain v. Bayern Munich

PSG shocked the footballing world when they put 3 past the reigning champions in the first leg. PSG was clinical on the counter attack and a lot of that had to do with Kylian Mbappe’s pace and Neymar’s great passing ability. Bayern dominated the first leg statistically as they had all the possession and over triple the amount of shots but could not find a way to consistently beat PSG’s elite keeper, Kaylor Navas. Today Bayern have to make up a lot of ground, trailing on both aggregate and away goals. Their top playmaker, Joshua Kimmich, guaranteed they would win this game and said they are the better team. We shall see if Bayern can live up to those remarks playing on the road in Paris tonight with everything on the line.
